“It’s Time to Trust and Test GOD”

Malachi 3:7-10; Luke 6:38

Sermon Text: Malachi 3:10; Luke 6:38

This mornings message from the Lord is not one, which encourages people to stand, up and shout, but rather teaches us how to live prosperously. God has always had a plan for us to live more abundantly and enjoy life to its fullest (John 10:10).
God never intended for His followers to beg for a living, but rather to live as children heir to His kingdom.
Unfortunately, in today’s world many have forgotten and abandoned God’s simple plan for how to meet and exceed our daily blessings.
God, who created each of us desires for us to follow His design for our lives by obeying what He has outlined for us to do to receive a full and prosperous life.
Malachi’s message was basic, return to God and give Him what belongs to Him and He will “pour you out a blessing much more than you deserve” (Malachi 3:10).
God even challenged the children of Israel and us to test Him, try Him to see won’t He keep His word.
His financial, personal, and spiritual outline for our lives has always produced abundantly.
The unfortunate problem is that we do not obey nor follow God’s perfect plan — We will not do as He asked —TEST HIM!!

Since the beautiful garden home which He provided for Adam and Eve to His defeating death, God has been providing a way for each of us to return to Him and He will give us what we need, but we must test and trust Him.
Rev. E.V. Hill and I agree, “Whatever God can get through you, He will get to you.” John Wesley advised, “Make all you can, save all you can and give all you can.” That’s an excellent formula for success.
There’s an old saying, which says, “When it comes to giving, people stop at Nothing.” Malachi was telling them to return themselves and their trust in God back to God.
God felt that they were robbing Him and that if they would only test what he was challenging them to do, He would give them lives of prosperity. He even told them that their whole nation was under a curse, because they were deaf to His test (Malachi 3:9).

Today individuals, companies, organizations, the country, and yes the Church are all falling under the curse of LACK OF; not enough to make ends meet; bankruptcies; foreclosures; bills going unpaid; reclamations; and other forms of financial destitution.
God said that we could avoid this financial curse if we simply test His plan of financial security, by giving Him back only ten percent of what already belongs to Him.
Paul told the Philippians, “My God will supply all of your needs according to His riches in glory through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).
Luke tells us, “If you give to others, you will be given a full amount in return. It will be packed down, shaken together, and spilling over into your lap” (Luke 6:38).

God desires His church to give to those in need, not be in need, but “we rob God” and will not test His financial plan for prosperity. We must give.

   1. According to income Deuteronomy 16:17

   2. Give without ostentation Matthew 6:3

   3. Give freely Matthew 10:8; Luke 6:38; 12:33

   4. Give with simplicity Romans 12:8

   5. Give regularly 1 Corinthians 16:2

   6. Give cheerfully II Corinthians 9:7

When we trust and test God, He promised to provide us with:

   1. Inner Peace

   2. Increased Patience

   3. Stable Relationships

   4. Professional Growth

   5. Financial Stability

   6. Spiritual Development

Let’s stop depending on the government, gimmicks, get rich schemes and test God by returning, to Him our own lives, our spirit and His financial treasure.
The test of generosity is not necessarily how much you give but how much you have left.

Providence, let’s Trust and Test God during the extremely challenging economic times by giving back to Him what He requires and see won’t He pour each of us and the congregation out so many blessings that we can’t even contain them.

Pastor Gerald Durley

Luke 6:38

"Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you."
